One of the things which irritates me is how boring the resumes have become. Most of the resumes I have seen in the last 3 years of starting Injoos have been done in such a standardized format that I wonder if it is done by the person or some standard resume generator tool. This problem is even more acute when it a resume of a fresher which is literally a carbon copy for evert student in a batch (Barring their Name, Address and Contact No.)
Objective section of every (and believe me every) fresher resume has the same lines which I am quoting below.
"To pursue a challenging job that provides an environment of knowledge and learning".
This is such a universal statement that I get a big YAWN.
"To serve in an esteemed organization where I can effectively contribute my skills to the best interest of the organization and to deliver to the best of my abilities".
How about saying that I am ready to do whatever you guys ask me to do :-)
At the end of the resume there will be a Declaration section:
"I hereby declare that the above mentioned information is correct upto my knowledge and I bear responsibility for the correctness of the above-mentioned particulars."
You are not signing an affidavit in the court of law. Anyway you will get fired if you are not good at the job !
I am recommending any resume style or the best practices etc. I feel these things are too overrated. My recommendation is that if you are not good at crafting a interesting resume send me your linkedin url. If you have a more interesting life it will be good to share your blogs and tweets.
